Hi, I'm Mike Treadway and I put together content for this site.

I have a background in software development and software architecture. As a technical lead, I developed strong leadership and experience with agile methodologies. Since 2009, I've been in the data center and cloud industry which has gotten me into all sorts of things like infrastructure, software defined networking, and containers. I'm a big proponent of Service Oriented Architecture, microservices, and separation of concerns. Although I started out with the Microsoft stack and .NET, around 2013 I starting using Linux, and more open source technologies such as NodeJs and Python. I've also had the opportunity to do some work in the big data and analytics space with Hadoop technologies, Elastricsearch, Kafka, and OpenTSDB. Since being hired by Terremark in 2009, I've been through 2 acquisitions from Verizon to IBM. I've seen some interesting things over the past 10 years, to say the least.

Today, I'm a Principal Enterprise Cloud Architect at IBM where I spend most of my time defining strategy and architecture, figuring out how we're going to use new technologies, and laying the runway for tribes and squads. When I go a few weeks without coding, I find an excuse to contribute to a piece of something, somewhere. Coding is my happy place.

What else?

I'm also a craft beer enthusiast. I started brewing in 2013 and have won over 50 medals, 2 best of shows, and a gold & bronze medal at the National Homebrew Competition. I'm a member of the Bluebonnet Brewoff committee, and serve as General Secretary for the Cap and Hare Homebrew Club.  Don't be surprised if I post something beer related...
